Pediatric airway management is a rare – but critical – aspect of prehospital care.

In this webinar, prehospital leaders in pediatrics and airway management will discuss existing and ongoing research on best approaches to pediatric airway management. These experts will review the most recent evidence-based guidelines and the study design of the monumental Pedi-PART randomized controlled trial.

Speakers:

Sylvia Owusu-Ansah, MD, MPH
Dr. Owusu-Ansah is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, serves as EMS Medical Director at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and as Associate Vice Chair of DEI for the UP School of Medicine. She is also associate medical director for pediatrics for Prodigy EMS.

Marianne Gausche-Hill, MD, FACEP, FAAP, FAEMS
Dr. Gausche-Hill is Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, CA. She is nationally and internationally known as a researcher, educator, and leader in the field of emergency medical services (EMS) and pediatric emergency medicine.  Dr. Gausche-Hill has won numerous national awards for her leadership in emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine and EMS. She is the immediate past Medical Director for the Los Angeles County EMS Agency and is the interim Chief Executive Officer and an active clinical researcher at The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Lorin Browne, DO
Dr. Lorin Browne is Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Associate Medical Director for Milwaukee County Office of Emergency Management EMS. Dr. Browne is a Site Principal Investigator and founding member of the CHaMP Research Node, the nation’s only research consortium focused solely on pediatric prehospital care.  He has authored or co-authored peer-reviewed publications on pediatric prehospital pain management, pediatric prehospital seizure management, and pediatric cervical spine injuries.

Henry Wang, MD, MS
Dr. Henry E. Wang is Professor and Vice Chair for Research of the Ohio State University Department of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Wang is an internationally recognized expert in Emergency Medical Services, prehospital airway management and resuscitation, and was lead investigator of the landmark Pragmatic Airway Resuscitation Trial (PART). Dr. Wang is PI of the newly-funded Pediatric Prehospital Airway Resuscitation Trial (Pedi-PART). Dr. Wang is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the American College of Emergency Physician Open.
